Extended Use of Clomiphene Citrate in Induction of Ovulation in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome with Clomiphene Citrate Resistance

Background: Clomiphene citrate (CC) is still holding its place as the first-line treatment for induction of ovulation in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) patients.  Objective: to assess effect extended clomiphene on pregnancy outcomes resistant PCOS. Patients and methods: this study was conducted 48 PCO patients with CC resistance attended Obstetrics Gynecology Outpatient Clinic at Menoufia University Al-Bajour General Hospitals, from April 2018 February 2020.  Patients were treated an administration (150 mg 10 days) overcome anovulation. Result: There highly significant change follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH) FSH/LH after (p < 0.001). Also, serum progesterone number follicles significantly increased compared before treatment. Conclusion: a safe, effective minimal side effect, but low rate observed. Therefore, further studies large addition other drugs are required investigate improvement rate.
